Community Questions: What is my current role?

I am an Executive Director of a Business Improvement Area (BIA) supporting an economic ecosystem for downtown revitalization. I work with many community partners - from property owners to civic organizations - to strengthen investments, retention, attraction, and growth within the business community.

It is a team effort in addressing many complex issues, including social disorder, gentrification, lack of biodiversity, non-residential tax percentages, lack of heritage preservation, crime, homelessness, and more. Through this work, I have collaborated with three levels of government and a range of stakeholders to provide an increased sense of place, identity, civic pride, and belonging.

This work involves many players, tools, and mechanisms to support a vibrant neighbourhood ecosystem and city!
