Great question to start off with!

It is pretty simple. I want to help, and I feel I've built myself up to where I can.

It centered around my values as a kid. I was always taught to serve community and give back to others. Part of that was being a 4-H kid with the mandate to be of service to community. I felt it was ingrained into me at that time - from participating in highway litter clean-ups to fundraising for community kitchens.

With my home and community of Airdrie, I have always been involved with giving back and being part of community for over 21 years living here. It was not always continuous, as life happens - such as raising a young family, but for the most part, I have been grounded in volunteering and giving back.

Why am I running? Because I am passionate about people and feel solutions to many challenges come from working together. To be of service to others is the BEST feeling towards contributions, and I hope to empower others with the same. Also, I feel I have studied a lot and gained much experience in the 'community building' realm to prepare me to be 'ready' as a leader. It was important to me to build the knowledge and experience as a foundation in order to bring my full self to serve with intention, meaning, and purpose.
